This seminar addresses the concepts and terminology, and related translation issues, surrounding corporate organisation, and corporate governance in Germany. It describes the various aspects of company organisation, in particular the organisation of the governing bodies ("Organe") of corporations, including the preparaton and organisation and implementation of shareholder meetings and the role of intercompany agreements. In addition, it gives a brief history of corporate governance, including an international context, plus an overview of the concrete corporate governance framework in German. Finally, it offers an outlook on future developments in this field.
The seminar will be held in English seminar and is aimed at German-to-English translators and is designed both to serve as an introduction for translators unfamiliar with this material and as a technical refresher for more advanced translators.
