Committee for Interpreting
The Committee for Interpreting of UNIVERSITAS Austria currently consists of eight members that have been appointed by the Executive Board for two years and – like all other honorary positions – may be confirmed in their office twice which results in a maximum period of office of six years. If possible, at least one member of the Committee should also be a member of the Board.
How it works
The Committee for Interpreting works informally; the chairperson appointed by mutual consent by the members of the Committee convenes the meetings including the agenda. Minutes are kept of every meeting of which every member is given a copy.
The Committee for Interpreting does not reach any resolutions itself, but presents written recommendations to the Executive Board. Committee members have assigned areas of work they also engage in outside of meetings.
The main tasks of the Committee for Interpreting include the processing of applications for obtaining the UNIVERSITAS Austria certification for interpreting.
